The NightHawk 6 Stream AX5400 WiFi 6 router is a powerful and feature-rich networking solution that caters to the demands of modern homes and businesses. Here's a review:
The NightHawk AX5400 router impresses with its cutting-edge WiFi 6 technology, promising faster and more reliable wireless connections for all your devices. The AX5400 rating suggests combined speeds of up to 5,400 Mbps, making it suitable for bandwidth-intensive activities like 4K streaming, online gaming, and simultaneous use by multiple devices.
Setup is relatively straightforward, thanks to the Nighthawk app, which guides users through the installation process, including network configuration and firmware updates. This user-friendly approach ensures that even those less tech-savvy can get the router up and running without much hassle.
One of the standout features of this router is its robust performance in handling multiple devices. With a 1.5 GHz triple-core processor and support for MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, it can efficiently manage numerous devices connected simultaneously without sacrificing speed or stability.
The router's four high-performance external antennas and Beamforming+ technology help extend WiFi coverage throughout your home or office, reducing dead zones and ensuring a strong signal even in larger spaces.
Another noteworthy feature is the inclusion of advanced security measures, such as WPA3 encryption and the option to set up a guest network. These features help keep your network secure and protect your privacy.
However, the AX5400 router does come at a premium price, which might be a consideration for budget-conscious consumers. Additionally, the design, while modern and sleek, may not be to everyone's aesthetic taste.
In summary, the NightHawk 6 Stream AX5400 WiFi 6 router is a top-tier networking solution that offers impressive speeds, efficient device management, and strong security features. While it might be a bit pricey for some, it delivers on its promises of providing a fast and reliable wireless network for all your connectivity needs. If you're looking to future-proof your home network, this router is a solid investment.

Has two network options, 5g and 2.4g. The app makes setup and keeping track of your Wi-Fi info really easy. Connection is great— laptop went from processing 100mbs to 1000mbs. Definitely worth the money.

I bought this wi-fi router to replace my old Netgear one that stopped working after 12 years. This was easy to install once you download the app. The range was so much better than my previous one that I no longer needed to add an additional Wi-Fi extender. I'm very happy with this performance. Definitely worth the money!

My older ASUS 3100 router failed and I researched a new router. I chose the NETGEAR Nighthawk AS5400 and couldn’t be happier. The install and setup went quickly and smoothly using the Nighthawk app and my iPhone. I was able to connect all of my home devices quickly and without issues. Splitting the 2.5 and 5 networks was easy and allowed quick connections.the bonus came when I checked the network speed and I saw a 50% increase in network speed. Since I was using the same cable modem this improvement was due to the Nighthawk. I checked speed with both the Blackhawk app and independent speed checks and they were both in synch.
I would recommend this router. It reaches all rooms in our three bedroom house as well as my security devices outside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great for home and garage

So far so good.
I’m getting full speeds on Wi-Fi all throughout my modest 1300sq ft house and all the way out to my Detached garage Which is across the driveway. So I am happy with the range.
I have a commercial building at the front of my half acre property. It will reach The first room, so with a Wi-Fi extender I have no doubt I’ll be able to run fast speeds in that outbuilding. This will be good to have because this building will be used as a personal bar, Lounge, and Shop to work on cars.
Setting up was easy with the Nighthawk app.
Once I find a Wi-Fi extender that I am happy with I will update on the outbuilding Wi-Fi.

5.0 out of 5 stars Performance is outstanding, setup was somewhat annoying

I'm going to start with the good news...this thing really performs. I upgraded from a Linksys AC1750 that was going on 5 or 6 years old. It had always been rock solid (not a single outage in all those years) but I had a feeling I wasn't get the speeds I should have been, boy was I correct. I recently upgraded my FIOS internet from a 100 to a 500 Gbps plan because I have two sons and both are now using tablets, etc. Plus I have a high end gaming PC and we have three TVs in the house streaming 4k, in addition to other devices. After the FIOS plan upgrade I ran a speed test from my PC and was getting about 340 gbps download and upload speeds. However, after I upgraded to this router...520 gbps download and upload! On top of that the range of the 5G network is way bigger than it was, probably triple the area. One of the other main reasons I wanted to upgrade to this router is so I have better coverage in my back yard in the summer. This thing covers my entire house and most of my yard - front and back. I am extremely happy with the performance. Now lets discuss the initial setup...
First off, I got it done and it only took me a total of about 15 minutes. But there were some annoyances that I want to share with others. When you first start the setup and open the app it tells you to scan the QR code on the router. Mine didn't have any QR code on it. That was number 1. I checked the box too, no QR codes anywhere. So I had to do it manually. Not a big deal for me, however...when you select to do it manually in the app it takes you out of the app into your phone's settings to connect to the router network (NETGEAR** and the password is written on the bottom of the router). It also says that after you connect to go back into the Nighthawk app to continue setup. OK, so I connected to the router manually (which worked fine) but then wasn't able to go back into the app because the app was still directed to my phone's settings to connect to WIFI. Nothing was happening, so had to close everything and re-launch the app, which then started the process over again. Finally after 3 tries, the app recognized that I had connected to the router and continued with the setup process. Then, the router needed a firmware update. During that update I got an error message saying that it couldn't find the router, but the firmware update finished successfully anyway. Then I had to re-connect my phone to the router (again) manually to move to the final step in the setup. All in all the setup completed correctly but as you can see there were some hiccups. As stated it only took me 15 minutes or so but probably should have taken less than 5. I am being nick picky here but I remember setting up the Linksys router and it went very smoothly and quickly. Not really a big deal though and now that its done it never has to be done again. Given the performance I am getting from it, I don't really care. Hence the five star review.
The only thing remaining is to find out how well this stays connected over the years. After how extremely well my Linksys performed I have very high expectations. We'll see...this review may change.

Very satisfied. Returned the mesh WiFi I got because the speeds were no better than my old router and each deco only had 2 e the Ethernet ports. The RAX50 gives me gig speeds throughout my house and I can connect all my Ethernet lines.

Fiber optics just arrived into my subdivision. After 15 years struggling with no options. No land lines. Weak phone reception. Only thing available was expensive satellite internet… I was excited to choose the one gigabyte down load speed package. But to my surprise.. I had download speeds around 930 MB per seconds going into the modem with router output speeds at less than 100mbs. Frustrating as it was. I was forced to upgrade from the cheap router that they provided to this Netgear RAX50 and to my surprise it too put out less than 100mbs of data. I called customer service and they suggested that I switch the 2.5.Ghz band to 5ghz band. And now….. BINGO! Now that’s what i’m talken about. Lighting speed fibre. Depending on the internet traffic of my neighborhood I average over 500mbs to alittle under 1000mbs of data transfer.
Now for the installation, that’s another point of stress. I was able to hardwire it in no problem. Power cable, simple ethernet cable from my fibre optic modem to the router. I connected my iphone to the network. Registered the unit and guess what? NO INTERNET after that. I gave up till the next day. My first step was to reset my router and start from scratch. I took the easy route this time and chose the auto setup option and it worked like a charm. The saying goes if you want something nice in life you need to work for it. In the end I’m quite pleased on its performance.
Their customer service was awesome. My draw back was my ego. I didn’t read thoroughly the installation instructions. And I didn’t call for help right away.
