5.0 out of 5 stars Superb router, and features. Highly recommend.

I've used their products before. I decided to upgrade my Flint to this Flint2. The speeds are fantastic. The throughput through wireless is very fast. I shared files between my PC and laptop and I was impressed.
I use the router in Repeater mode. I works very well. The repeater upload and download speeds are just slightly below what I get when I connect directly to my complex's Hotspot. Basically, very little loss if any!
The UI for the router settings are easy to understand and well laid out. Another great feature they provide is their GoodCloud remote connection. Now with two routers, I can manage both routers directly through the GoodCloud service, which is a secure connection to your router. I really enjoy this, compared to the old days when I had to create an SSH tunnel to securely connect to my router. You can even turn on/off your WiFi services completely and still manage your router through GoodCloud since it still maintains a connection to the Hotspot or if you have it connected to your modem through your WAN. Another function is the built-in whole house Adguard or VPN setup you can have. Easily manageable and accessible. There's a plethora of settings and option you can manage. If you're used to the DDWRT UI, you'll find this a bit different but for me, it works well. I have no complaints.
All in all, I found this upgrade worth it. The additional memory is welcomed. I'm not running at 36% memory use opposed to 65% on my Flint1. A lot of power and resources remain available.

5.0 out of 5 stars With OpenWrt, this is the new R7800!

For anyone who has been in the OpenWrt scene for a while, you'll know of the infamous Netgear R7800. It was the long-standing champion for performance and wifi range. But, the R7800 is getting a bit "long in the tooth", so to speak.
In comes the GL-MT6000. This is largely considered the new R7800. It is a worthy replacement for the R7800 in terms of performance and wifi distance/quality. With OpenWrt it is a very powerful unit, whether one chooses to use it as their primary router or a "dumb" AP (OpenWrt parlance for dedicated WAP). It is stable, but also tunable for those who like to tinker with OpenWrt Snapshot builds.
The OEM bootloader is basic, and just works. Such a refreshing change to have an OpenWrt friendly device. It is very forgiving for those who like to tinker and test latest/bleeding-edge builds.
As this device is very popular in the OpenWrt community, there is great community awareness and support. The OpenWrt community is second-to-none and very willing to help newbs or seasoned veterans alike.
Give this device a try and you'll see what the hype is about!

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid router for those who desire stability but also flexibility

I bought this router because of the fact that this is based off of openwrt and the interface does not hide that fact. I wanted router software that is super flexible so the I can install other things on it and this router fits the bill. If you don't like the vendor's software you can just install vanilla openwrt on this and it runs fine. All the settings to change wifi settings and such are clear and the stock interface has good support for plugins too.
I find my Wifi performs reasonably well on 5ghz, 800Mbps down on 1gig service (80 mhz width). Wired is also fine, have not had a chance to test the other 2.5Gb port, though.
With that being said, this router isn't perfect. The power cord for this router is a bit short, so you'd want to get an extension of some sort or be mindful where you put this.
As of writing this (1/12), I am sure there will be other updates to the software as it seems like the 2.4Ghz wireless performance is not where it should be. It's not broken, but it's not fast. May or may not be a problem for you as most devices these days use 5Ghz which is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Best Router So Far

I decided to switch from DD-WRT to OpenWRT and came across this router in searching for a WiFi 6 router that allows me to custom the firmware. Upon receiving this router, I upgraded it to OpenWrt 23.05.3 (stable version with LUCI built in, not Snapshot). So far so great, very stable and fast router. One of my best so far!
OpenWrt is much more "open" than DD-WRT with lot of options for add-ons. I'm a happy camper now.

I liked that it comes with openwrt (their version), I immediately upgraded it to OpenWrt 23.05.3, r23809-234f1a2efa .
I have a lot of home automation devices and my older wifi router was falling down. Also, some internet based apps that were troublesome started working better. Likely my old router was degrading w/o giving up totally.
I am way more than satisfied with this router, I'd give it a 6 star if I could.

5.0 out of 5 stars These guys know their stuff.

I've used GL.Inet for years, mainly for portable wifi that I can use in hotel rooms so that I can use everything I have through a VPN. It was obvious from the software and what they said that they are tech geeks, not sales guys. I appreciate that you guys! I've used D Link, TP Link, Asus, and several others. There have been issues with all of them. Sometimes they stop offering firmware updates so soon I can't believe it, and other times they skimp so much on memory that I feel like I bought the router at K-Mart (RIP).
Anyway, I needed a router to set up as a VPN client so that I could run some "unverified" software without worrying that it would be on our internal network. This router lets me run a vpn client, so all that the computers attached to it see is the vpn, nothing else. And it's the same interface I've seem with GL.Inet for years. (Can you tell I love these guys?). The router also has way more memory and processor than they need today ... because it might be what they need in a couple of years. Saving me a purchase of a new router.
Anyway, it works, they update their firmware, they don't cheap out, and it supports WPA3. With everything I've seen in the last several years, these guys are my top pick. I suggest you check them out and try this router as well.

This is what you need! Built-in support for AdGuard Home DNS Blocking Server. Nearly 35% of traffic today is garbage ads and tracking. Get rid of it. Super easy to set up! 5 hours after delivery, I already love it.
P.S. If anything changes - I'll update the review.
